This year's Diving Officers' conference highlighted the importance of buoyancy skills. As a result, all Pisces members will have to demonstrate that they can perform a controlled buoyant lift before participating in any club dives.
Members are also encouraged to refresh their delayed SMB skills and mid-water hovers. If you haven't shown us you can do a CBL yet (and you want to come diving this year) or you want to practice any other skills, bring your kit along to the pool and show us what you can do.

Drinks and games
on Wednesday 13 June 2007 - 11:56:50 | by adminOn the first Monday of every month from about 8pm, we will be meeting at the George pub in Kentish Town for a few drinks. Please come along if you can make it.
On the last Friday of every month, we will be playing games in the pool. This got off to a good start on the last Friday in May, with a number of games including Angela's new game, which she is insisting is called 'the bottle wreck'.
Please come and join in the games - you'll need to bring fins, mask and snorkel.
The dates for the next meeting at the George and games evening are on the calendar.

Challaborough
on Monday 14 May 2007 - 13:30:44 | by adminOur first UK diving of the season was, as ever, at Challaborough Bay on the first May Bankholiday weekend (5th - 7th May). The weekend was well attended by divers, friends and family.
The warm April meant that the plant life more developed than usual but also meant that the plankton bloom reduced the visability.
The weather was very kind to use on the Saturday. The calm waters meant that everyone got a dive and some (who were brave enough for a return visit to the chilly waters) got a second.
Sunday was a different story, with the choppier seas putting off all but the keenest divers. The enthusiam paid off for our visitor, Nicky, who was cuddled by a dog fish escaping an aggressive crab!

New swimming pool
on Wednesday 04 April 2007 - 20:59:41 | by adminFor the time being the club will meet at Barnet Copthall Pool at 8.00 on Fridays. Click here for a map showing where the pool is.
The nearest tube station is Mill Hill East on the High Barnet branch of the Northern Line, its about a 25 minute walk or a 10 minute bus ride on the 221 towards Edgware.
The most convenient pub seems to be the Mill near Mill Hill East tube station.
